Population Health Analytics and the Right Interventions Can Help Combat America’s Opioid Crisis and Increase in Substance Use Disorders
As deaths related to drug overdose increase at an alarming rate, the CDC reports a 21 percent increase from 2016 to 2017 alone, access to actionable data across populations proves an integral part to preventing and treating opioid addiction and other substance abuse disorders.

According to a recent article in Becker’s Hospital Review, population health analytics help providers better understand the opioid crisis and choose the best tools and treatment options to combat it. MeU care is excited to be one of those options as we work with population health and recovery programs to enhance communication, connect the patient and their community of support, enable remote patient monitoring aimed at relapse prediction and prevention, expand access to mental health services and improve the coordination of care and resources.
Data alone won’t solve the opioid crisis or any form of substance abuse disorder, but it is an important step in finding the most effective approach.
